Penguin Stalker,
So you don't want to use any bar chords. This'd be easy to transpose just by dropping down half and using a Bb and Gm.
Verse: F, C, F Bb, C Chorus: Gm, G, Bb, F, Bb, F, G, Bb
Bb (bar chord) .|E-A-D-G-B-e| .|------------ 1|.|1|.|.|.|.| 2|.|.|.|.|.|.| 3|.|.|3|3|3|x| 4|.|.|.|.|.|.| 5|.|.|.|.|.|.|
or try...
Bb (bar chord) on the 6th fret .|E-A-D-G-B-e| .|------------ 5|.|.|.|.|.|.| 6|1|1|1|1|1|1| 7|.|.|.|2|.|.| 8|.|3|3|.|.|.| 9|.|.|.|.|.|.|
Gm (bar chord) .|E-A-D-G-B-e| .|------------ 1|.|.|.|.|.|.| 2|.|.|.|.|.|.| 3|1|1|1|1|1|1| 4|.|.|.|.|.|.| 5|.|3|4|.|.|.|
I hope this helps. If not; no matter.

PS, I did a search for a transposer on the web and found one at: www.logue.net/xp/You simply paste in the song and then select the key you want it in. I did just this and then selected the key of A. And it spat out this:
Penguin Stalker's Song Key of A Verse A E A D E chorus Bm B D A D A B D
And in the Key of D is even better - all open chords... woohoo! Verse C G C F G chorus Dm D F C F C D F
Play it and let me know if it sound like the song you're trying to play. [glow=red,2,300]J. Edgar[/glow]

That website JE mentioned.......if you want to transpose a song, say from the data base into it, it will set the song out with chord diagrams...I think a great idea for learners...you just have set the output type...muck around with it.very neat I think..

CAPO's belong in the rubbish bin along with the empty milk carton' and the contents of the ashtray. This is just my opinion But then I worked for months to learn Barre Chords Don't follow me. I'm the idiot remember ;D

I passionately disagree with you there, Wayne. Milk cartons should be recycled ;D But seriously, a capo is a handy little device, cause you can play open chords in another key, and when you play open chords, your much more free to do hammer ons and pull offs because you have all four fingers available.

Tis a myth that capo's are for people who cant play guitar. A very handy device that can add a whole new vista of tones to normal chord voicings.
I just wrote "whole new vista of tones"....... i am a t00l

I suppose it's just personal perference with Capo's I had one once when trying to learn and found it was taking over the neck. I was always looking for the easy way out when I should have been learning how to play sharps and flats. As for as I'm concerned there are two types that play a guitar. Musicians that don't need to use a Capo and singers that play and use a Capo. We run workshops at our club and capos are banned. If they need to use them later...thats Ok. Now here's a question for the Capo lovers. How do you play the Intro and Lead solo in the middle of a song when the chords are Capoed? ;D

I am strictly rythm, I don't wan't to make it cry or sing...
Improvise. Make something up. Or use two guitars, like, have one on a stand, and when you need to do a solo, just step up to it and wail away.

Agreed, some novices use it to play in keys that they couldn't normally play in, but its use is not an indication of lack of ability. Look at it this way - the capo, by changing the scale of your guitar gives you a range of instruments instead of just one. On an acoustic guitar the tonal changes can be really sweet, changing a dreadnought boomer into a delicate lute. Ever heard of Jeff Lang (one of australias finest guitarists) - I've seen him using two capos at the same time! Are you suggesting he's just a singer who can't play? Freddie King - one of the all time great blues players played lead with a capo all the time.

Sometimes he uses a normal capo before the "notched" capo to shorten the scale. The really interesting thing about notched capos is that it will give you "altered" tuning in the open position but as soon as you move up the neck the tuning reverts to standard (or to whatever tuning you are using). And for quotes - just click on the quote icon in the top right corner of the post you want to quote.
