I have a Laney 120w amp, with built in effects channel and 'dirty' channel. I use a Laney 2 switch foot pedal to operate them. It has developed a really loud hum on the effects side, but not on the dirty side. Doesn't matter which pot the guitar is flipped to - (5 on the Cort strat I use), but there is no noise when the switch is not used and you run straight off the dials on the amp. Changed over the foot switch once, but it still does it. I am no techo, and am taking it back to the shop etc, but curious to hear from some of the more techminded amongst you as to any suggestions. Amp is otherwise great etc, but this is really annoying. Have had mumblings from some mates re "dry solder joint" etc. What do others think?

Seems it is a problem in the effects module - shop is going to change it over - hopefully before our gig Saturday night! - and that should be that. A bit annoying that solid state pieces go on the Fritz so easily!!??
