Hi.
I was wondering whether anyone had or knew where to find tabs for Holly Throsby. She's got a great album out and I'd love to be able to play some of her stuff.
Thanks heaps.

the track up with the birds (i think that is what it is called) - I gave it a quick try but it sounds like it's in an open tuning. Try emailing her and ask her what tuning she uses and I'll give it another go

Keep Rockin' Cheers Mel... I was just playing along to the song in standard tuning and i used Bm and Gm and mixed them around for different bits maybe someone can work out the tab from there??

Hey I'd also like to be able to play some of Holly Throsby's songs, if anyone out there who is more talented than me would like to give it a go . Her album is On Night and I don't care which songs u tab since they are all awesome. I had a go at working out Things Between People, and I thought I had the beginning, but I saw her play and she did it differently, so... I dunno. She had a capo on the first fret for that song if it helps anyone help me... I thought it was just in drop D tuning. Thanks

Hey, I just recieve an email back from Holly and she said to tune your strings to D G D G B D for 'up with the birds'. She doesn't know how to write tab. and doesn't often know what chords she's playing either. She just make up shapes and try and not forget them. I hope that helps if you need any more info i'll be happy to email her got her email address. So if you could work out the tab or even just the chord thanks you guys are brilliant! ;D Cheers Mel...

I'm sorry I wouldn't have a clue by open tuning do you mean that she doesn't use a capo sorry i play and love it but i don't know what all the jargon means, she just said that the tuning is D G D G B D so by that i think she means it's open you can her her songs on her site www.hollythrosby.com but listen to the song "Up with the Birds" I really wanna learn this one, it might get used for hsc ok well do what you can keep rockin' cheers Mel...

An open tuning is a tuning that gives you a chord when you strum all the open strings (well every tuning will give you SOME form of chord, but an open one gives you a more melodic chord...you know what I mean). And no, she doesn't use a capo. I figured out the first two little melody bit type thingies but I'm pretty crap so I haven't bothered with the rest yet.

Oh ok I understand yeah i know what you mean thanks Petox. I think it's an open tuning thats what holly said the tuning was. If you want you can email her just send me a private message and i'll give it to you, just to save her privacy rights and stuff you may know exactly what to ask. Where's Paul you should be giving this one a go i'm sure you're busy tabing out other songs so just take your time. any way i don't think that helped much but anyway keep rockin' cheers Mel...

Hey thanks for the tuning help. I've worked out the two bits at the beginning. I'm not sure how to tab correctly so I'll just explain best I can, and hopefully someone can make more sense of it.
So once you've tuned to that open G chord...
On the 6th string (ie thinnest one) fret 4, then 2, then open.
follow that two strings up fret 4, 2 and open.
Ta da! Hope that makes sense, it's not much but hopefully a start!
Cheers.
