Yeah... this happened like.. a month ago, and ive been meaning to post it, but.. *sigh* im just too lazy.. SO HERE IT IS! MUAHAHAHAHA!
Thirsty Merc, great band, were going to do a gig in Dubbo, all ages in the arvo, and well, i thought, what the hey, im gonna go, but disappointed that Evermore (if you dont know by now, my favourite band) wont even CONTEMPLATE coming out this way.. so i sent an email to the guys, to con them into come out our way, and LO AND BEHOLD!! Evermore were named supporting act for Thirsty Merc. YIPPEE!
Both bands performed spectacularly, Evermore especially, having seen them twice, I didn't know if they were going to be any good or not again, but they were awesome. Really entertaining band to watch and to listen to, and my sister and I had front row, centre stage, in the "mosh pit". Jon (the guitarist/singer for Evermore) came that close sometimes, I could have reached out and pulled his pants down, if i felt so inclined.
-For One Day
-It's Too Late
-Dreams Call Out To Me
-Come To Nothing
-Into the Ocean (Calling You) were the songs they played, all off the debut album, Dreams! (im starting to sound like a Video Hits presenter)
Thirsty Merc were awesome. Not as exciting to watch as the 'More for me, but still awesome all the same. I didn't really know any of their songs, but the crowd went wild for them, when they started up Emancipate Myself. I had to beat them away, so they wouldn't squash me.
After the show, both bands came down for a meet and greet, Thirsty Merc were behind the merch desk, while the guys from Evermore were randomly roaming around, and sometimes, going back stage to throw up (poor Jon, he was sick). Well.. needless to say, Evermore remembered me (even enough to be voluntarily hugged and kissed by Dann [drummer] but hey, i wasnt complaining!) and well.. I went home with a lot of interesting stories about that night.. including Dann breaking my eyeliner (dont ask.. it involved me stealing the security guards texta) Pete (keyboardist) almost falling on me (long story).. getting some hugs by Jon (he had to become 2 feet shorter to hug me)^_^ and being graced by the drool of Rai as he belted out "Wasting Time" Nice..
And I wish the security on the RSL wasnt so tight. Pete encourage me to just.. hang around with them, and blend in.. but.. we were spotted.. dun dun dunnn..
Next time.. I'm getting Dann to smuggle me in.. after all... he's underage too ;D
