It's not surprising that they would take this stance, they have to look after their own interests the best they can. However, the fact is (in my opinion) that 99% of the stuff, particularly on OZTABS cannot be purchased, because it has never been published anyway !!

Exactly. They don't actually have much legal ground to stand on I don't think. It couldn't hurt for them to make tab books that are actually accurate too.
I think right now they've changed tactic and are going after sites that make a profit from people getting their tabs. There's been no real word on it for a while, but they may just be waiting till next year. Who knows

www.powertabs.net has been hit by the effects of it. I fully understand the idea of chasing after the people who buy/borrow the tab books and then copy it out note for note onto the internet - that's stealing fair enough. But going after the people who figure it out themselves by ear is just ridiculous. Are they going to go interrogate each and every cover band next to find out where they got their tabs from?
