hi , bit vague my last forum post, should of explained it a bit better. so here goes. i sent in a song eg words and the basic chord pattern with no lead etc. the record company liked the song but want a demo of it, eg something they can listen to. we have only played it accoustically as it is a fairly sad song and the accoustic sound gives a good feel to it. just wondering if its best to just hire a studio for a while and get it done or just tape it at home, what do record labels like ?what does the average studio charge etc ? any suggestions on what to do would be a great help

Mate, I haven't had any dealings with record companies (or Satan's Spawn as they are otherwise known ) But my guess would be that they want to hear what the song is about. You can get pretty decent results with a home computer or even an old 4-track. Let them worry about the recording studios. Try downloading some free software like Audacity and multi track the song on a PC. Well - that's what I'd do anyway.
