Hi Folks, just wondering - anyone else suffering from the same disease/addiction as me? It is called G.A.S. (Gear Acquisition Syndrome) and like other addictions it has the potential to send me broke and destroy my marriage!!!! Have been changing guitars over for the past year or so until I finally find my baby (mentioned in other posts), but I also seem to impulse buy all sorts of guitar related stuff. The other band members joke at the start of every practice about what new stuff I will rock in with, and most weeks it is true!!!! I blame Ebay - as Columbia is to cocaine, so Ebay is to fuelling the supply of "stuff" for sufferers of G.A.S. I just blew a heap of my tax return on 4 pedals (Boss DD3, Boss OD3, Boss MT2 and a Marshall SV1) cos they were an Ebay bargain - curse you ebay!!! I should be feeding, clothing and educating my children instead of making my front room look like backstage at Clapton's CrossRoads Festival (the DVD of which I bought on ebay!!). Perhaps if there are enough of us out there we can form some sort of support group and get some Government funding??? If we get enough funding we could buy some new stuff ;D

Hey stringjockey - you make me feel great!!! ;D
Someone that has got G.A.S. worse than I do. My wife keeps threatening me with a musical garage sale while I am at work one weekend - scary thought.
And like Petox wrote - $2 cello - interesting. what exactly is that?

To quote Britney "Oops I did it again!"
Just bought a Jim Dunlop Crybaby WahWah/Volume pedal combo - $100 bucks on ebay - BARGAIN!!
Have been looking at Crybaby's for a few weeks, and have seen them go for up to $140 for the straight style. Chucked a bid at this for a giggle and that's all she wrote!
Now, all I have to do is make it sound good!

that is a lot of guitars for two people!
i endure a few slightly different strains of GAS (i only have one guitar!) in the form of being an op-shop-aholic as well as constantly having ideas for jewellery and being hence obliged to visit one (or several!) of the bead shops in town and, despite wanting to spend all my money there, end up spending most of it! i have lots and lots of jewellery! but i think it's part of human nature to be a gatherer of stuff, depending on what you're into - guitars, jewellery, Lego. i seem to have many pairs of shoes, too...

I feel your pain Dogil, i feel your pain.
I can't help myself!! Everytime I walk into a music shop, I either end up buying something, or think about what I saw for days and days until I give in and buy it.
And then there's ebay...damn thing!
