I enjoy Shooting trips out to my mates country retreat where we poor country folk partake in gourmet foods, fishing for cod, shooting ferals and drinking fine vintage reds........on the river bank. You ought to come to Tassie for a shooting trip. Theres a couple of ferals I've been wanting to shoot for a while now..... Oh, you meant feral animals! ;D Welcome back!

hey everyone. never used to read the forums too much but just came across this thread and wanted to jump in and say g'day. im 22 and my name is andrew. i live in penrith....west of sydney. i've been playing for around 3 or 4 years now and am totally self taught. my guitar rack isn't all that full at the moment.....just a maton electric acoustic, which is my prized possesion. knew as soon as i picked it up that it was the one for me. play it through a fairly small 25 watt ibanez acoustic amp, which actually sounds surprisingly good. i'm not really into lead yet.....played a few lead guitars and just doesnt feel right yet. love the acoustic sound. though i dont get to jam much anymore cos of one thing or another. you can see below the type of music i prefer to play but i dont discriminate....i will give most things a go except country. i dont pretend to be a star with the guitar in my hands but i think i go ok and i love playing. last song i learnt was hallelujah and im addicted to playing it.love the sound.not sure who originally wrote it but i play the jeff buckley version. anyway that'll do.

I'm an Aussie expat living in the good old US of A. Getting old kinda quickly (turned 39 this year), but it sure beats the alternative.
My main axe is a '72 reissue Fender Telecaster Custom. I've also got a couple of cheap axes that I put Rio Grande pickups in (GREAT pickups, by the way). I play mostly blues and rock. I'm crap, but I love to play, and it's a great stress reliever.
I'm a big Angels and Cold Chisel fan. Can anyone recommend a good source for Angels tabs? And how about suggesting some good new Aussie bands for an old school rock guy to check out? I've been gone for too long...

19 yr old guy from Gymea (southern Sydney) here, playing a crappy Valencia student guitar. Been playing for about 1 year and a half. Play lots of stuff, from Pete Murray to Powderfinger, with plenty of classic stuff from Crowded House, REM, Chisel etc.

I'm a 20 year old from beautiful Newcastle who plays a red wine coloured Washburn. I've been playing for about 4 years but never really improved. I guess if I actually had some lessons I might get into finger picking and actually play the guitar as opposed to just doing some dodgy strumming. Being a chick I have trouble finding decent stuff to play and I have to transpose a lot of stuff to a sing-able key but I love Crowded House, Missy Higgins, The Corrs and U2, to name a few.

Woah, Coota! I lived in Temora till I was 4 and I still have lots of family left there. Looks like you've got a pretty happening music scene down there. I was surprised to read somewhere on that site that Temora is good for all ages gigs. Theres some very professional sounding bands on there too
