Just jumped online to download porn....oops, I mean guitar tabs ;D, and read this post. Fair enough point. Play a bit of everything, good at nothing. Main electric - Shechter strat, main acoustic - Takamine, mix of Laney and Ashton amps - play in a cover band in South Gippsland (Vic) called Jambo (means greetings friend in Swahili - no crap, it really does ;D) whenever my wife lets me run away and re-live my youth. I am 45 but I don't feel bad because I KNOW there are older dudes than me out there You don't want to challenge me to a dance off - I was a "sharpie " in the 70's so did the "stomp" in 6" platforms (ask mum and dad what that was all about - Lobby Lloyd - Ball Power - great Aussie guitar Rock album - check it out. He also guested on a brilliant but obscure double album I have on vinyl - Billy Thorpe and the Aztecs live - Steaming at the Opera House. Stuff Aus. Idol, blasting guitar rock is what should be at the house!) and a disco freak in the 80's - white suit and all. Neither was pretty and is best left forgotten. I am sure some of you other old farts out there are grinning wryly and shaking your heads p.s. Clapton is God

Hey.. just found this forum, thought I'd say hi. hydrafonics, nice to see someone from Byron... I'm 18, living in Brisbane, but only just moved up here at the start of the year from that area (a hole in the ground by the name of Mullum, actually.)
I play basically anything... classical, classic rock, jazz, modern rock, metal... haven't been playing long, but yeah. and Tommy Emmanuel is a god.

well me, i'm 16 living in Gunnedah, i have a shitty Onyx strat copy and an even shittier Alvarez acoustic, which gets tuned to all sorts of things (check out the tunings forum). i play just about everything that i can, metal, general rock, acoustic stuffs, whatever comes my way. favs are RATM, zeppelin, spiderbait, beatles, Tool, a perfect circle, etc etc etc. really diggin tool, APC and primus at the moment. i'm also turning into a drummer, now drumming for two bands (and not playing guitar in any bands ..unless i want to sing ..) the end

hydrafonics, "You got served!"
Rob here, coming to you loud and proud from sunny Tazzie. I'm 21. Play a Cole Clark Fat Lady 1 acoustic electric cut away.
Love Tommy Emmanuel, contemporary and old stuff, just love good music really
Tommy Emmanuel grew up in Gunnedah. Saw his show in Hobart friday night. Initiation is the most awesome tune he plays live. Reverb cranked, tappin' and thumpin' and bangin' away on that Maton, the sounds he gets out of it! Also, Clive Carroll, the support act, was excellent. He's a pom, with traditional Irish music background. Top bloke. He even pulled out the banjo, but his had been dammaged on the plane. He borrowed one from Mcfees in Hobart. The action was pretty high though, so he was having a tough time. Still, he did an excellent job. He asked if anyone had any requests. "What's the first piece of music you think of when you see a banjo?" he asked. "Dueling Banjos," I yelled out. "You do realise that piece is for two banjos, don't you? Shall I have a go at it anyway?" Everyone seemed keen for it, so he did. If you get to see him anywhere, and hopefully he'll come back to Aus, check him out.

hey there
I'm 21 and live in the mean streets of southern Sydney. i play a maton em225c acoustic electric and a highway 1 telecaster. i recently got my hands on an blue italia mondetto at a garage sale for $50. I havent had a play of it yet because it had no strings on it but i couldnt pass up the opportunity to buy it because it looks so damn good. It still is at the guitar shop getting checked over but my theory is even if it sucks, it only cost me $50 and looks really good. al are played through a fender deluxe 90 but am looking for an upgrade to fender tube, possibly one of the hot rod types. also have this mad pedal called a route 66 a combination compressor overdrive.
At the moment I'm really digging the cops, theredsunband, peabod, the pogues, dallas crane and my ipod.
Will always have a special place in my heart for you am i, the stones(before ron wood joined), the lemonheads, neil young and custard.
am really looking froward to the gerling christmas show and falls festival at lorne(the only decent festival lineup this summer)

Just spotted this thread. I am 30 years of age and play an old Mexican Strat, Epiphone 350s acoustic and the best damn electric guitar on the planet my Belman double cutaway. I am playing through a randall 50 watt all tube RM50, this amp is just amazing. I am using a recto Module(based on the mesa dual rect) and a Tweed(based on a fender 59 bassman), and the only thing i can say is that they sound awsome. If you are keen check this site out it has mp3's of the different modules in action. www.stevesmusiccenter.com/RandallRM50.htmlI teach guitar and own and operate a music shop, as well as play in a band with my buddies called "The Drunk Monkey's" I like; Zepplin Hendrix Clapton Stevie Ray Vaughan Metallica Van Halen Anything thats blues'y or that Rocks

Hi, I'm Buck and I'm new to this forum......NO i'M NOT!!!!!! Just called in after repairing the nissan and thought I'd see what the forum was up 2....been awhile.....good to see Wayne hasnt changed, and Petox is still not allowed into a 18 plus gig.....suffer man!! Robbies still at uni but must be getting close to endagering some hapless electrical workers soon!! Walshy!! Where are you? ? Hey Spoon , good to see your playing well with the dickie finger...hows your injury Guido? But..I digress, back to the thread...... I'm ..let me think...42 this year, I play what I feel like, and that is mostly anything with rythymn..dont pick me up on spelling Llama,.... I play a martinez acoustic electric, a cort strat copy , and put them thru (when I feel like upsetting the nextdoors) a nice little peavy 11w amp. I adjust the music to become noise via a boss DS-1 or thru a Zoom GFX707 which I picked up on Ebay for $150. Which I might add, will shortly be leaving me when the daughter gets hold of it... I'm spending all my spare time on constructing a hover craft for pleasure....dont ask me why, I'm sick of telling why.....I enjoy Shooting trips out to my mates country retreat where we poor country folk partake in gourmet foods, fishing for cod, shooting ferals and drinking fine vintage reds........on the river bank. Life is good and will only get better as I get older....just like a bottle of Dequino's Marsala..if it lasts that long!!
