Well, tonite the long stretch of sleepless nights start. The ultimate in cricket series, the Ashes, kicks off at Lord's. I know I'm ready for it, and I was just wondering who else will be watching. Steggz

Yes...the Ashes...the ultimate in cricket! Been waiting for this to start. May all our nights be long and sleepless! As strange as it may be having to watch it on SBS, we'll still have the witty, comforting voice of the one and only Richie Benaud. (wouldn't be cricket without him)

Yeah I will be up for it night in night out....can't wait to see Mcgrath knock over Trescothick in his first over for 500. Poms are gonna get hammered and they know it...just putting on a brave face for their public. Bring it on!

Wow, who was watching last night as the Aussies got within a couple runs of the English total? Damn that was nerve racking! A pity we didn't get there in the end, but it's a test match I won't be forgetting in a long time!

closest Ashes Test ever, i believe. it was pretty good though! i felt so sorry for Kasper - he was doing so well! Lee was too, especially considering how many times they hit him. yes it evens the series and makes it more exciting but i think i'd rather we just flogged them!

To be honest I didn't think we had a hope in hell at the start of play. Needing 100 odd runs with only 2 wickets left...near impossible you would think. Warne, Lee and Kasprowicz all batted tremendously but you still can't help but think, "what if". I bet Warne will never get out again in his career "hit wicket". Ah well, 1-1 makes it a bit more exciting I guess but I'm with you angel, I would much rather we flogged them!

Day 1 of the 3rd test. Who'd believe both mcgrath and lee would play. but they dropped kasper when gillespie has no form at all, a terrible move. and we probably payed for it. vaughan got lucky a couple of times, but overall played well for his 160. We need to lift tonite. big time

and did we lift? NO dammit! what has happened to our boys? No one's really in form and having a few injuries hanging around doesn't help. we might even have to pray for rain, for crying out loud!

Gee we got lucky last nite. Even though martyn wasnt out, it was great to see lee and mcgrath save us. Now for changes to the team. Gillespie out, Kasper in, Katich might be getting close to out as well and bring in Hussey, depending on how Clarke's injury goes. But we will need to lift big time for the next test.
