any comments here? has the media been too overboard in their reaction to Kylie M's Cancer? Like her or hate her, she has been around since alot of you people were in nappies....I would like to wish her luck.....cause she isnt.....she told us in "I should be so lucky"
anyway, 32 Australian women a day are diagnosed with breast cancer......how many men are with prostate cancer???
And here's a calmning note.....Australia's cancer rate from industrial cancers will not peak for another 20 years..these are from Asbestos and chemicals used in the work place in the 70's and 80's.
So......play hard your guitar, for tomorrow, the strings may break!!

i think it is a tragedy - however I hope it isn't the main news story for the next few weeks... surely there are a lot more important things the news broadcasters can talk about (like NSW thrashing QLD this coming Wednesday evening!).

Kylie getting sick, that's sooo Delta! Will she have Kemo? Doesn't sound like it. Bloody Herald Sun had front page and about 17 more pages covering the whole thing and Kylie's history and blah blah blah. She's fine. Let us rejoice and move on.

i guess i agree with Paul and Robbieb - Kylie is just one of hundreds of women who live or don't live with breast cancer in Australia alone, and how many of them have their story splashed across all the news services in the world? while it may have served the purpose of raising the issue of breast cancer (and other types of cancer) Kylie should be allowed to deal with this privately and in her own time and space. we don't need all the details.

Like so many of you probably, I have had a friend with breast ca. To put it into perspective I guess, it needs to be noted that Kylie had a small lump removed; excellent news that it appears to have been found early, but it is a far cry from a radical mastectomy, aggressive chemo (ultimately leading to a hysterectomy as well) and months of rehab. Not to mention the crippling financial burden over and above medicare and private insurance!
I am genuinely pleased that KM appears to be OK, and that this has raised awareness, yada yada yada, but yeah, I think I am over it.
