On of the local pubs holds a jam night on Tuesday nights. The local country music band supplies the instruments but your welcome to bring your own... I was told to turn up tomorrow night by the prez of the o.c.m.a...hope they dont ask me to play..cant remember a song from start to finish.anyway.......last sesssion they had.....two of the best locals got up and done Hotel California.....Garry (who judges on talent Quests around here) reckons you could have closed your eyes and the Eagles were right there in the room. The Two leads...A fella by the name of Pete Riley...one of the most underrated guitarist in the country....and Malcom Irwin... Wayne..you would have heard of Pete? Anyway..I'm off to the Pastoral after work tomorrow night to watch and learn...

Careful, Buck....... Now I know what your thinking, Walshy and his theories but you really must consider the ramifications here, my friend. What if, for arguments sake, you were to play at this so called "jam night", and just supposing that the head talent scout for Australian Idol just "happened" to be in the audience? Don't you see? OK, let me spell it out for you. He would sidle up beside you at the bar after your set and accidentally knock your drink over. Naturally he would offer to buy you another. Stands to reason then that the two of you would get to talking. This and that...that and this....next thing you know you have agreed to be a contestant......usual story, you win the Idol series, you know....recording contract, tour, make millions, adoring teenage girls throwing their....errrr....ALBUM COVERS at you. WHEN ARE YOU GONNA HAVE TIME TO BUILD A BLOODY HOVERCRAFT THEN I ASK YOU? ? You need to consider these things every time you play your instrument! This is the very reason I don't play Lotto. If I won 29 gazillion dollars, I would be so busy spending it that I wouldn't have time to get up at 5am and go to work all day and come home absolutely stuffed. Then where would I be, I ask you? There, it's all out in the open now. I hope I havn't shattered anybody with all this.......but someone has to be the voice of reason in this mad, mad world. God Bless and pass the salt please.

Geez Walshy...I was so close...so so close.....thanks mate...as it turned out I worked on Tuesday night..and felt a bit stuffed so didnt go to the Pub.....the next night was spent on Hovercraft building and so was Thursday..and yesterday arvo and all day today...and I've now recruited the Buckettes.who have the ability to mix epoxy resin...but are lousy at applying it..
got the rest of the week off, so I'll be spending more time in the shed.
maybe the next jam night.....but I'll keep an eye out for that no talent scout...

I'll give you lousy at applying epoxy resin! I'M not the one that ended up building the hovercraft on a complete slant, so one side sticks 5cm out farther then the other side!
I wouldn't mind father Buck being on Australian Idol.. at least if he can make it into the final 30, i sure as hell can make it to the top 12!
But yeah... I've just realised that this thread is out of date by a mile..
