U got the winners right, but they beat cronulla. Dogs lost the next year, in the first NRL final. Newcastle beat Manly, with Darren Albert scoring in the dying minutes.

what causes white noise on untuned televisions? (i found this out at geology the other day and i think it's pretty cool!)

I don't know if this is the answer you were after but I do know that large objects (like buildings, mountains and even large trees) that are in between your aerial and the broadcast station can cause interference. Am I close?

well, they can interfere with any broadcast signal, even absorb it completely, but they don't cause the white noise.

White noise is produced by combining sounds of all different frequencies together...not sure if this is the effect on untuned TV's!? (Please advise if otherwise)
