"tap tap window someones throwing stones" Steve Cummings, but I can't remember the name of the song. I know the next line is "into other people's homes".

I'm stuck in the 80s, so I got a few that might test " As she crosses the floor, she knows What does she know?"

OK, a couple of hints.
The next 2 lines in the song are:
There she stood, this fancy fashion creature And everyboy knows she is my little seniorita
It was sung by a guy who later become the front man for a band who had a number of huge hits in the mid 80's.
He was a chronic alcholic and released a biography in 2002, which was named after a lyric from, arguably, this band's biggest hit.
The last, and biggest, hint I will give for the time being is....the tab for this song is available on this site....hehe.

The style was pop/rock.
He has toured as Kylie Minogue's bass player.
His intial's are JF and the successful 80's band he fronted was The ******.
