Hey folks, is it just my impression, or are things fading away a little? Seems to be only a few regulars now posting anything, and some of the topics don't seem to have too much to do with music/guitars? Not grumbling or slagging off at anyone - just making an observation.

Yeah, things seem to have really quietened down here. Paul took about 2 months to update the site with new tabs, but I think that was because he was waiting on a new server. A lot of the usual regulars are probably busy with other stuff, like work(Paul, Buck, Spoon) and kids(Spoon). We don't seem to be getting many new regular posters either. I for one haven't really had anything to post about, so I normally don't post if I don't have anything to say. I have been busy with uni and my new interest in mountain biking, and hopefully motorcycling soon, after I do the course on the weekend which I'm getting pretty excited about Just gotta come up with a topic that makes people want to respond to, but if people aren't checking the board, then not many responses will come. It's a shame.

I agree. I got nothin to post about either, and yeah after the 2 years that i've been here there's only about 3 new regs, 1 reg disappeared off the face of the earth and another seems to be heading that way also

yes, things have been fading away recenlty, but all that will be changing real soon. I've just given my notice @ work & will soon be working on oz music central full time. i've worked for sanity music for the last 9 years... it's time to move on & do something different! So starting in June, I'll be around here a lot more again & updating the site a lot more often.

trust me petox, you wouldn't want it! it might look great from the outside, but it's been a long tough slog for the last decade! and the stores are turning into K-mart / Big W style branches which is kinda dissapointing. do they have a sanity store out your way anyway?

Yeah, there's one over in Tamworth. I wouldn't REALLY want a job there...I think I need to open one of them underground record shops that half the time can just be trendy but the rest of the time they're actually pretty awesome.
K-Mart/Big W style? Please explain.

kmart / big w... as in, head office orders the stock, & you just put the stock out on the shop floor - it's all the same generic top 40 crap - managers no longer get to order specific stock that they know will sell - it's all done by computers these days on rate of sale. it's the same stock that big w sell, and they sell it cheaper, so why go to sanity when big w have it cheaper?

Excellent news Paul, re Oz central!! As for Sanity, In my area (Sth Gippsland Vic) there are no Sanity stores, but we have Leading Edge in 2 towns, and they seem to be a bit more independent? The town I work in has a great selection of NON top 40 stuff, and are pretty friendly and helpful.

the sanity that i've been at recently in Newcastle Mall has a sound world (leading edge) store in the same mall. I think they're struggling which is a real shame... support your local indie stores, they need it. Sanity doesn't even have an alternative or metal section anymore, it's all mixed in with every other artist. Anyway, I don't think I'll be purchasing my CDs from Sanity once my staff discount dissapears

Only problem with JB - the stuff is so cheap you buy so many so you end up spending more than you planned!! Love rummaging through their $2 bin, have got some ace stuff over the years.

I must admit, JB is the best place for great bargains - they sell a lot of their mark down stock well below cost price. I do agree, you end up spending just as much money, but you get more bang for your buck
